The Programmatic and Clinical Management of DR-TB Online course provides clinical officers, nurses, paramedical staff and other health workers with the knowledge and skills to effectively solve the most frequent challenges in the management of drug-resistant tuberculosis.

Learners receive a certificate at the end of the training if they validate the end of the training assessment.

At the end of the training, participants will

  • Understand the basics of TB care and prevention.
  • Understand how drug-resistance develops, transmits and how it can be prevented.
  • Know how TB and DR-TB are diagnosed.
  • Know the basic elements of treatment of TB and DR-TB.
  • Know how to monitor and manage adverse events and when to refer to a physician.
  • Consider TB management in special cases: children, pregnant women, diabetes melitus and HIV co-morbidity.
  • Can apply the basics of recording and reporting and TB data use for decision making in TB care and prevention.
